Topic #31-#2 My Reality Show Post (Job Loss and Survival Stories)

You are Fired!

If you had your own reality show, what would it be called?

Job loss and Survival Stories.

You lost your job too?!What would it be about?

Being that everyone is in denial of the current economic recession my job title is perfectly suited to what a reality show should be about.

Who would the main characters be?

The Characters would be chosen from each State on the Map of this world. They would be ordinary people who have lost a job, got fired, laid off, downsized, or quit. I would pick a “male” and a “female” of any age. It would talk about their survival from “having it all, to losing it all.”

Very sad & funny but so true… According to the US Bureau of Labor, The unemployment numbers are still hovering around the 14.5 million mark. Truly sad that the economy is rebounding so slowly… So much stress everywhere.

Better than two and a half years ago we started talking about seven millions lost jobs. I doubt very much whether we have made any dent at all in those outrageous numbers. I wrote a three part article about this matter, some ideas for solving the mess, and what really the agenda should be about the whole job loss scenario on another blog. If anyone is interested, just send me an email and I will forward you the URL for the articles.

There is no way to treat the subject cavalierly. It is a grave and depressing subject, whether you are the affected or someone close to the affected. One thing I know for sure is that extending unemployment benefits, as they have now been extended, is not helping people find work. It is offering the lazy another excuse to lay around and lament the employment figures being emblazoned 24/7 in the media.

We all need to be in prayer for the unemployed, the underemployed and the underprivileged who are suffering the ravages of this horrible recession, and devastating depression that is demoralizing the ones who need help the most.

Besides the truly unemployed, there are very large numbers of people who are underemployed that is real crime in our workplace. Pray for us Lord.
