My “About” page is critical… that’s where I posted my legal disclaimer and let people know every last thing on my blog is fiction, so don’t sue me if I made something up about you.
So far, it has worked. Then again, I doubt Sarah Palin, President Obama, John McCain, the staff of NASA, Lindsay Lohan, Hosni Mubarak, or any of the other people I lie about read my blog.
This is a great post Jackie. Far too many links for me to check out now, I’m still a little too busy with the RandomBlog2011 challenge and trying to catch up on some emails. I will check it them out on another visit.
Come to my site and promote your blog
1. What is the name of your blog? House Church Connections in the Kingdom of God
2. What is the url? http://www.housechurchconnections.com
3. How long have you been blogging? About 2 years
4. What is your blog about? I write about house church from the kingdom perspective. When we meet under a tree in the forest here in Colorado Springs, we call it Organic Church
5. Tell us one thing about your blogging experience that we might find of interest:
About 300 to 500 people visit per day. About 1/5 are from Europe and 1/7 other countries.
FrizzText - I just read your “About Me” page.
I like the structure - the Q & A presentation style.
I like your answers to “what motivates you to get out of bed”.
Wow, Jackie - this is an awesome post.
@Narendra - that’s not the point about thee “About Me” Story. Your blog is like a “permanent office” in cyberspace and if you write an “About Me” page to “fool” your readers, they would find out soon, trust me. and when they do, you’d start losing traffic fast (thanks to facebook and twitter - they will tell eveyone).
The About Me page is one of the most visited, if you have one. Most readers want to know who you are (I do it), and that’s where to get to know you. A blog is about building a community and not leaving out contents and being faceless.
It should be like your blogging resume, so to speak.
That depends on how you want to write yours - how you present your facts and story is what makes it compelling. Afterall if you go for a job interview, won’t you first tell “about you”? I just read your post “The bizarre world of Narendra Reddy” - that is you telling “about you”. You wrote that. Lol
So the purpose of “About Me” stories is not to fool your readers.
Thank you Stella for that post for Narendra.
@Stella - I love you for this.. XOXO
I totally understand your points..In fact I have masters in Marketing..and now, work as a Marketing Consultant ^^
I was trying to portals where they just fabricate their story - ” Everyone loves a sad or zero-to-hero story, so lets give them one” - bad attitude, bad marketing.
I agree with you, Peace…I’m visiting your blog now.. XOXO
@Jackie - Remember, I said - You have a fantastic blog, add one more line, you have fantastic followers too ( includes me.. lol )
Narendra, you are my buddy for LIFE ♥ I agree on the bad marketing thing, and the fabricated stories. The good thing is I don’t sell anything. But Stella is really a friend whom you will love. I am glad you are going to her sight. I Love her! Oh and thanks for caring about my blog and for the follow and comments.

Extremely useful links Jackie…have to explore them.
This “About me” thing is lil manipulative. It’s like befooling prospects to relate to one’s story to win their trust. Hmmm, Cheap marketing strategy
