Valentine’s Day Clearance Sale.
Some years ago I took a class that focused on self-actualization through meditation, astral projection, past life regression, and the like.
During the last class, the teacher told me I was the most self-defeating person she ever met.
I laughed it off, figuring my tradition of showing up drunk to the Friday afternoon session irked her, or maybe my chakras were out of alignment.
Now that I’m unemployed and in my 30s, I wonder if she was on to something.
Congratulations on being Freshly Pressed – I enjoyed your post about interviews. I have written a few posts on the same subject, including my suggestions on how NOT to interview people! Job hunting – which I have to do at the moment – is my least fun activity in the world. Good luck with your search!

Charlie, I am a huge fan of Scott Hahn’s. If you ever want to send some to me, just let me pay shipping. Thanks for your comments.

I don’t have any duplicates that I know of, but I will check. I have several that he signed for me on some trips where we met he and Kimberly. Our Parochial Vicar studied under Scott at San Franciscan U, in Stubenville, OH, and lived with Scott and Kimberly during the summers, we have developed a closer than usual relationship with the family.
We have had him to speak at our Church, and we sold about 500 of his books over two breaks and lunch. I have never seen anything like it. I thought we would have to ship half of the books back, and it turned out we just had a handful left. His new Bible Dictionary @ $50 dollar apiece went like hot cakes!

Hey Jackie,
My new book buying is a rare occasion. We haunt the “Friends of the Library” sales, and all of the other central Georgia sales.
A few years ago we threw away all of our fiction books and started collection Christian, and Catholic classics. We have over 100 different Bibles, plus some in Spanish, German and French. My wife loves the Saints, so we have “mucho” of them.
In all I have built bookshelves on all of the empty wall-space in the house and they are just about completely full.
We give away hundreds of books to others, by collecting duplicates and triplicates and then sharing them.
Sometimes we buy Scott Hahn’s, Fr Mitch Pacwa’s, Fr Grochel’s, Patrick Madrid, and others. But, those are for our personal library. Take care, Charlie
