Amber states;

”It’s been said that I collect experiences. That’s because I love to try something new, to travel, to create, to learn, and in general to run amuck. I’m one of those people who get more organized and efficient the busier they get and that leads me to like to take on lots of “projects”. I have to say that I, Jackie Paulson tend to be exactly this same way! I do well under pressure.

I live in a society where your results is more important than anything else. Where you have to work doubly hard to to ensure a safe place in this screwed up world. Where everyone is just living their own damn life. Where everyday feels the same. Where everything is a vicious cycle.

I will rise my middle finger in the midst of all this chaos and present it to the person who created this mess.”

The idea of Reading Week is simple … concentrate just a little less on your writing (this week only) and more on your reading.

Basic ideas …

Tag your posts with ReadingWeek2011

* This will let your friends know you’re posting but doing more reading than writing

Read a few more blogs than usual

* Catch up with old friends or maybe meet some new ones.

* At least hit the “Like” button to say you’ve been reading.

* Rate the post if the option is offered.

Leave a comment if you like, but keep it short.

* We all live for comments but don’t make them a mini-post this week

* Exception - if the topic really moves you, go for it!

* Don’t limit yourself to blogs. There are other things in the world worth reading too.

Today’s Reading Week - Day 2 Question is …

Do you have any blogging tips?

The Debt A story to warm your heart

A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and he handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:

For cutting the grass: $5.00

For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00

For going to the store for you: .50

For baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: .25

For taking out the garbage: $1.00

For getting a good report card: $5.00

For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00

Total owed: $14.75

Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he’d written on, and this is what she wrote:

For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me: No Charge

For all the nights that I’ve sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you: No Charge

For all the trying times, and all the tears that you’ve caused through the years: No Charge

For all the nights that were filled with dread, and for the worries I knew were ahead: No Charge

For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose: No Charge

Son, when you add it up, the cost of my love is: No Charge

When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and said, “Mom, I sure do love you.” And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote: “PAID IN FULL”

  2. Hi Jackie,

Just wanted to thank you for stopping by today. Your comment and your post here about friendship is wonderful. And the link you left with your comment to me was very beautiful. That poem is a keeper.

    Thank you Jackie.

    Very sincerely,

    - Papa Joe

    • Papa Joe, you are very welcome.

  3. Blogging Charlie hum…I have so much to say let me think about it and get back to you. I think mostly that if you are a Christian then connect with other sites - not always on wordpress - ask if they will link you from their blog to yours. This linking thing I am learning about. I will get more information for you Charlie. Thanks for your comment.

    • Perhaps you should download Free http://www.heartofbusiness.com/thecore Charlie I added more to my blog http://wp.me/p1jqHB-51

  4. HI Jackie,
I think I’m confused about blogging.
Ever since I joined Newsvine in 2008, I thought blogging was about writing! Articles, essays, poems, and writings of interest. Short (250-500-750-1,000 words)pieces which would be of interest. I did that and accumulated a few followers.

Now, I see that blogging is more about feelings, and minutiae of all sorts.

Is blogging just a bunch of feelings?
If that’s all it is, it would seem to me to be rather superficial. Opinions please.
    Take care, Charlie

  5. Whoa! so many links cool

    • Thank you Narendra, I love to look at others sites and learn. Have a good day

I love your Reply
