What am I currently reading?
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin…This started out as my weekend read and I knew when I started that I wouldn’t be able to finish. People, I can’t put it down. I have to force myself to go back to The Happiness Project so that I don’t DEVOUR this book. So many people that I love to hate and hate to love. There was one point where I had to stop reading because I was SO upset (seriously, took an overnight break), but I knew that I had to keep reading.
The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin…I’m into August of Gretchen’s year of happiness. Lots of great ideas to make your own life a little happier, for instance, she recommends indulging every once in a while…so I did that tonight and got a facial. I smell so good right now!
From Beirut to Jerusalem by Thomas Friedman…still breaking, but very timely to continue reading it considering current events.
The Heroine’s Bookshelf by Erin Blakemore…I’m reading this one real slow…because I’m reading the books I haven’t read yet before I read the chapter about those heroines.
What did I recently finish?
Nothing yet…I’m reading too many books to finish any of them. It’s a problem.
What will I read next?
Beauty Queens by Libba Bray…came in to the library today, so it’s been moved to the top. So excited!
Skippy Dies by Paul Murray…I read the first few pages and I’m intrigued (but it’s a library book, which can be tricky to read when also sunbathing…I prefer to read my own books while reading around water.)
The Last Werewolf by Glen Duncan…it’s out in July and I’ve already started hearing very good things about it.

What a brilliant idea this is!
Great idea… I’ll try it sometime.
Sighing, so much to read, so little time for this WOW. Thank you for the suggestions. I am reading mostly background for my Merlin novel, but also just finished Middlemarch on my Nook-use it to read in bed as the light doesn’t bother my husband. I am trying to make sure I read all the 100 books High School students are supposed to read that I have not. Don’t really see today’s young readers enjoying Middlemarch but it was pithy and had some quotes that made me chuckle. Just learning to use my nook and need to learn how to harvest quotes.
I am joining the fun. Forgive me if I don’t respond often-helping raise Ben, and writing, writing before my brain totally gives out.
Keep going strong.
Lots of time to read because I love to do it, and raisingdaisy Come join the fun
What a great idea. We’ll be hopping over there now! Thanks Jackie!
So many books, so little time!!
Game of Thrones is so good! sure, it’s a big fat book, but it’s a fast read, mostly dialog and action.
I just finished China Mieville’s Embassytown, and picked up Mayer’s “The Falling Machine”.
You’ve made my Wednesday even better. Thanks!
