Settling vs. Settling Down in Your Career
There’s no doubt that the economy has forced people into less than ideal job situations and I can respect that not everybody can easily quit their job they hate, right now with the current economy.
5 Signs of Settling:
- I hate this job, but it pays the bills
- It’s not the ideal job, but I’ll take it
- I don’t like what I’m doing, but the money justifies it
- This is the lesser of all evils
- I can take this job and look for something else in the mean time
I have been reading the news and know that their are so many problems. I have to talk about this today.
The fact is that times have changed. I wish someone would pay it forward and give me jobs on editing for their needs from my site http://thewritershelp.wordpress.com which leads to a new free site about my services.
The stock market is way down, and those who do have investments towards their future with stocks, are going to have to wake up and smell the coffee. The truth be told, money is not everything.
The numbers for the unemployment are the highest since the great depression, and we need to find ways to help one another. I cannot help but to think of 9-1-1 and how that effected all of us. It makes me feel like that day. It affects all over the world.
I use to make great money, and I was considered middle class. I no longer am just that, but I am lower class. I accept that. A saying is going on in my head, “what you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.” I am not sure what verse in the bible it is from, but I believe that message is for ALL OF US. If you see a need, Fill it. The other day I did three free haircuts for low income people, who needed it. I have also borrowed my car for a week to a single mom who needs it as I am not able to find work. I could name other things that I am doing to help those in need, what are you doing?
Have a Blessed day everyone!

I Love your blog! Jackie I love the way you help others in your page. I love my job right now. The best part is I can use my skills in editing in printing that I would not of used in my past.

Don’t despair… things will eventually change; we must find things in our lives to be grateful for….

I’m thankful to have retired and not be in need of a job to sustain me, and I feel for people who are out of work, trying to make ends meet.
My friend’s husband is one of those - he goes out every day looking for work and is now at the stage where he will flip burgers - if someone would take him on. He will do anything, he is desperate.
They are living off his wife’s Disability Pension and their bills are piling up. I thought a change might help, so invited them to come and stay with us for the weekend which they did. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and went home full of enthusiasm and positiveness. He has since found a job driving taxis; it’s a job, and it will do till he finds something better.
So I like to think that we helped in some way with the visit - they went home refreshed and more positive. We all need each other.

You are correct, we do need to come together and help those who may have it a little rougher or even if they don’t. It is amazing the shot in the arm it gives oneself when you reach out of yourself and extend a hand.

Great food for thought Jackie. hope to see u around! )
