Topic #226 Revisit January Blog/What I have learned since then

22 Aug

New to blogging? This one’s for you.

Here it is August 22, 2011 and I have been posting a day all year for the Post A Day Challenge. When I started this challenge, I just signed up to find out if I could actually blog each day. What was so perfect is that Scott Berkun added topics so that each of the bloggers could post something about it. Here is my post from January 26th 2011.

As I reflect as to what I have learned:

  • It is okay if I cannot post a week, due to family issues, job loss, job hunting, or unforeseen circumstances. I can post a week and go back to post a day when it is more appropriate.
  • I learned that the topics are great but some of them I choose not to write on. Instead I came up with other ideas on my own.
  • I learned that it is important to include an “ABOUT ME” page so that other bloggers would be able to get to know the “real scoop” about who I really am and many bloggers did read it.
  • I learned that I love to read other bloggers writings and make comments, which in turn built a wonderful friendship between bloggers. I now know that when this challenge is over that I would maintain friendships with blogger friends from all over the USA and Internationally.
  • I learned that this challenge was not as hard as I thought it would be and enjoyed the interaction and reading about others.
  • I learned more about wordpress.com and all of its features. I have added and subtracted from my own sidebar to learn each of the features it does have.

I learned that I wanted to blog more and I have thus created other blogs such as these:

I think you’ve done a great job with the challenge. There’s no way I could post every day, so I admire the fact that you can

You’ve done an amazing job and have even gone beyond the scope and made it your own and much more. I admire your work.

I’ve done 306 in 387 days and that’s been an exhausting pace because you can’t post about this and that, but must keep the cartoon ideas flowing.

I love your Reply
