Topic #248 My Favorite Eating Place/BookBlog Giveaway

My Favorite place to eat: My Dad owned and operated a restaurant and it was the best place in the world. It is no longer in business.

It was one of those places that was fancy and I was told Carol Burnett ate there too.

I ate out and learned “manners” at a young age. I was born in the 60′s and things sure have changed since then!

I think that the fashion and colors of that era is coming back too. I love the hair styles. I guess I am old-fashioned.

It must have made you feel so special to dine in your dad’s restaurant! That made it so much more than just an evening out.

We enjoy trying lots of different restaurants, but there’s nothing we like better than having a home cooked meal for the holidays. Any holidays. One year I was too busy to cook for Thanksgiving, so we went out to a really nice place with great ratings. The food was good, but not as good as home cooking. And there were NO leftovers! No leftover turkey for sandwiches, no extra pies to give to friends, no chatting while picking at the turkey carcass - nothing! It took away from the holiday spirit a lot. Now, no matter how busy I may be, we have holidays at home.

  4. Wow! I must’ve been nice!

  5. You must have so many great memories of your Dad and his place. Anything that is associated with food involves all the sense hence creating more intense memories. Memories are great things that can keep you going during hard times.

  6. Love the blog! Good stuff here. Keep writing!
    Blessings,
    Kathy Robbins
