Most people see morality the wrong way, for the wrong reasons. They think if they stop drugging, drinking, or cheating on their spouse that will make them moral.
But that is missing the point…
The real path is the one where you no longer desire drugs, drink, or cheating. You become the person for whom these things hold no allure.
Your morality comes not from obeying rules or laws, but from living in accord with the values you believe in, and the principles you hold.

Your conclusions support what Jesus tried to explain to the Pharisees and Sadducees. It is not the Law but a way of living and thinking that should govern us. Paul and Peter had serious contention over the matter as Paul was dismissive of the Law.
You are so versatile! Thank you for being such a resource, too. I am in agreement with you regarding morality. The more our desires, wishes, thoughts and actions are congruent, the more we find that peace, too. I will enjoy reading at your other sites! Debra
Brilliantly put Jackie - excellent!
I recall a teacher telling us once that if we did not want to be good, then at least did we perhaps wanted to want to be good?
That was absolutely brilliant. I don’t think that I have seen morality explained so well before reading your post. Your upright phlox is stunning, they are one of my favorites in the garden.
