review	I love Nicholas Sparks books! The love relationship is wonderful. The romance part is wonderful between the Denise Holden and Taylor McAden and Denise’s son (Kyle).This book takes place in 1999, in North Carolina. She is traveling from Atlanta, GA to Edenton, North Carolina when a horrific storm goes through. The storm had nine Tornados, destroyed 30 homes, phone lines down, transformer blew, trees everywhere, and flash floods. Denise stops for gas as the storm starts to calm down and when she enters back onto the road, out of nowhere comes a doe which forces her off the road into a skid which she knocks her head on the steering wheel. She is unconscious and Taylor McAden is the first to arrive at the accident and shacks her awake. The first thing she does is looks in the back seat to see that Kyle is not in his care seat. Kyle is just four years old with a language disability; and cannot make words properly. She is frantic as she is whisked away to the local hospital. Then the firefighters and others search frantically for Kyle in the stormy weather. Five Hours pass by and Taylor finally finds the Kyle, sitting in the corner of a blind (a place for hunters), muddy and scratched, filthy but okay.The pages turn and the story gets very romantic as Taylor and Denise build a wonderful lifetime friendship. My 1st Book Review 2011 About the characters- Denise Holden – Denise had a one night fling that got her pregnant, now she is finding being a single mom difficult. Denise’s father died when she was young, and her mother passed away not too long ago of a brain aneurysm. Although Denise has a teaching degree she works nights at “Eights” as a waitress to make ends meet. Kyle Holden – The son of Denise Holden. Kyle is four and a half years old with a speech and cognitive problem. Kyle has an overall learning ability of a twenty four month old. Taylor McAden – The handsome firefighter that tries to save the day. Taylor has his own business as a carpenter/contractor. Taylor finds it difficult to stay in relationships with women. He has a past that haunts his present, but won’t face those ghosts. In the end, Taylor’s best friend dies in a fire leaving a wife and I think four kids. She decides to move back to her home town for more help. Taylor decided to talk to Denise about his past with his own father’s death in the fire when he was 9. Once Taylor opens up to Denise, the become a couple for good and they get married and Taylor adopts the boy. I had tears on this one. Great read.
