Resale Finds 6-3-2011

For those who know me know that I suffer from a chronic cystic acne condition and my sister gave me an newspaper article that told me to put Milk of Magnesia on my face to dry up oil and cure my condition, today is day #1.

Milk of Magnesia for Acne:

Now the most interesting thing about this product is that it cures acne as well if you use it as a topical treatment. As acne is usually problem of oily skin so all those people who has oily skin can use this product to control their skin oil as well. The product is very affective for all types of acne like blackheads and cystic.

How it helps Acne:

Milk of Magnesia is magnesium hydroxide which is alkaline in nature. Due to its alkaline nature it neutralizes excess acid of skin which causes acne. For oily skin it absorbs excess oil. It also has disinfecting properties which keeps blemishes away. If you don’t have oily skin neither you have acne then avoid using milk of magnesium as it will be very harsh for your skin.

How to use it:

Shake the bottle well; with the help of cotton ball apply the solution on your skin. If your skin is not too oily and you don’t have severe acne then you can apply it only on T-zone. Let it dry and then wash it off. Usages depends on your skin condition like if you have sensitive skin then you can try twice a week and if you have oily skin then use it every other day. If you are noticing improvement in your skin and your skin is getting use to it then you can increase number of applications like daily to twice a day

The Cause Within You by Matthew Barnett

Matthew Barnett

"What I have Learned says Matthew Barnett"

Today I have had the pleasure of reading The Cause by Matthew Barnett and I am on page 51. It is obvious the date on my camera is off b/c this book just came out in 2011. Today is 6/1/2011

I am reading the background of how the Dream Center got started and what they do. I do not want to spoil this book so I am going to say that it’s a wonderful read.

Instead of celebrating such a great success in Matthews Ministry he goes into the streets of L.A. and lives among the skid row people, the homeless to bring back “His Fire For The Lord” and his original passion to help people: not build a church.

Page 53 is Chapter 5\Discovering the Cause of a Lifetime; where I hope Matthew walks me through “how to find my own cause.”

With all that said, I pray that you pick up this book and let me know what you think of it. Have a great week and bless others anyway you can with what you have today in your hands.

Be a blessing~ Jackie Paulson

Final Review:

The Cause Within You by Matthew Barnett

Matthew Barnett

The genre for this book is very inspirational, guiding, spiritual, and very thought provoking.

If you are searching for meaning and purpose to your life this book will help guide you to finding it. “Discover the cause God has for you.”

Matthew Barnett is co founder with his father, Pastor Tommy Barnett of TheDream Center in Los Angeles. His father is also the senior pastor of the historical Angelus Temple.

When Matthew Barnett sees someone with a need, he sets out to fill it and that includes searching for hurt people that need healing.

Quote: “Tonight is the 15th Anniversary of the beginning of The Dream Center, in which we help to restore the shattered dreams and empty lives of broken people.” Page 3

The story unfolds by Matthew spending the night of his 15th Anniversary on the streets of Los Angeles, with the homeless community who suffer.

Quote: “I’d been praying all night that the Lord would give me somebody to help, and then He delivered Annette to me.” Page 26

God wants us to enjoy serving others by doing what we are naturally talented at. If you have a talent that comes naturally to you God will bless it; as he did with Matthew Barnett.

At the end of each chapter Matthew writes, “WHAT I’VE LEARNED.” These pointers will help you to find exactly what it is that you are naturally great at doing and guide you along your path to finding it.

This is book would be a great group study as it has questions at the back of the book for discussion, loaded with scriptures.

Matthews other book includes “The Church That Never Sleeps.”

Mark Willis song “Don’t Laugh at Me”

I’m a little boy with glasses
The one they call the geek
A little girl who never smiles
‘Cause I’ve got braces on my teeth
And I know how it feels
To cry myself to sleep

I’m that kid on every playground
Who’s always chosen last
A single teenage mother
Tryin’ to overcome my past
You don’t have to be my friend
But is it too much to ask

Don’t laugh at me
Don’t call me names
Don’t get your pleasure from my pain
In God‘s eyes we’re all the same
Someday we’ll all have perfect wings
Don’t laugh at me

I’m the cripple on the corner
You’ve passed me on the street
And I wouldn’t be out here beggin’
If I had enough to eat
And don’t think I don’t notice
That our eyes never meet

I lost my wife and little boy when
Someone cross that yellow line
The day we laid them in the ground
Is the day I lost my mind
And right now I’m down to holdin’
This little cardboard sign…so

Don’t laugh at me
Don’t call me names
Don’t get your pleasure from my pain
In God’s eyes we’re all the same
Someday we’ll all have perfect wings
Don’t laugh at me

I’m fat, I’m thin, I’m short, I’m tall
I’m deaf, I’m blind, hey, aren’t we all

Don’t laugh at me
Don’t call me names
Don’t get your pleasure from my pain
In God’s eyes we’re all the same
Someday we’ll all have perfect wings
Don’t laugh at me

A song that I can identify with as I grew up and even now. What are your thoughts, as this is not

suppose to be depressing but help us release our Feel-ings.

A Prayer Wheel is meant to be a Steering Wheel

1] Prayer is not a “spare wheel” that you pull out when in trouble; it is a “steering wheel” that directs us in the right path throughout life.

2] Do you know why a car’s WINDSHIELD is so large & the rear view mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on.

3] Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.

4] All things in life are temporary. If going well enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong don’t worry, they can’t last long either.

5] Old friends are like Gold! New friends are Diamonds! If you get a Diamond, don’t forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a base of Gold!

6] Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, “Relax, sweetheart, it’s just a bend, not the end!

7] When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn’t solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.

8] A blind person asked St. Anthony: “Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?” He replied: “Yes, losing your vision.”

9] When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them; and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.

10] WORRYING does not take away tomorrow’s TROUBLES; it takes away today’s PEACE.

You have what it takes to Survive

You Have What it Takes

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, He will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you”
(2 Corinthians 9:10, NLT)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

When Jesus sent His disciples out to heal the sick, meet their needs, and share the Gospel, He told them, “Give as freely as you have received” (Matthew 10:8). In other’s words, God has given you everything you need to do what He’s called you to do in this life. He has equipped you to be successful and has empowered you to overcome in this life. He’s given you seed to sow in order to have an abundant harvest in your future. You have what it takes!

God has placed seed in your hand today, but in order for that seed to produce, it has to be planted. It has to be watered. It has to be fertilized. Today, ask God to show you where to plant your seed. Make sure you are sowing in the right ground and tending to the seed He has given you. Remember, God has a good plan for your future. He has plans to bless you and increase you. Today, you have what it takes to move forward and receive the blessing He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father in heaven, thank You for equipping me for every good work. Thank You for giving me good seed to sow! I invite You to guide my every step by Your precious Holy Spirit. Thank You for choosing me to be a part of Your plan. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

— Joel & Victoria Osteen - Passing along my favorite Email today above.

Okay, I had to post this today as I am standing strong in our Lord. If you do read this post…I am starting a new blog at

http://addicatedtopaxil.blogspot.com/ Jackie‘s new blog Paxil

The reason I am doing this is to vent my mad mind as I am on day 15 OFF Cold Turkey from PAXIL.

I am not and I mean NOT happy. I am in a detox stage. All the prayers you have will be so nice.

“If it were not for BAD LUCK, I’d Have NO LUCK at all….” This is how I FEEL TODAY.

Nothing is going right and I mean NOTHING.

Bless all of YOU.

Minister to Other’s HURT Message

The 700 Club

Image via Wikipedia

Today in Chicago Illinois at 4:30-5:00am on Channel 16 I was privileged to watch James Robinson‘s message. I encourage everyone to go to CBN.com; and since it was not letting me make comments I would love for you to share your thoughts below. Here is the message in my version of thoughts not theirs.

Matthew Barnett was the man that James Robinson interviewed on the television today. Matthew was talking about his Dream Center wich he is celebrating it’s 15th Year Anniversary. I am going to donate by purchaseding this book he has called “The Cause within.” I quote Matthew here as to why he was so inspired to write this book, “When you discover your true cause as God intended it will liberate your passion and gifts. Matthew says, “The fulfillment of your cause will leave things better than you found them and that includes you.”

Yes, this program is one of the 700 Club. Please watch this interview today on CBN.com

Matthew Barnett

Matthew created The Dream Center to take in what society would call bad people and God ends up turning their lives into a great ministry. People find their Cause and it will amaze you.

LESSON: You can minister to those who are hurting and help them. This is the “junk” we call Life! Eveyone needs a loving Father (JESUS).

Mother’s Day: 36 Thoughts to Ponder

Romans 8:31 absolutely beautiful

Happy Mother's Day 2011An Angel says, 'Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.'

1. Pray

2. Go to bed on time.

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No to projects that won’t fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.

6. Simplify and un-clutter your life.

7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don’t lump the hard things all together.

10. Take one day at a time.

11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety. If you can’t do anything about a situation, forget it.

12. Live within your budget; don’t use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13.. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.

14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.

15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a spiritually enlightening book with you to read while waiting in line.

17. Get enough rest.

18. Eat right.

19. Get organized so everything has its place.

20.. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life..

21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.

22. Every day, find time to be alone.

23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don’t wait until it’s time to go to bed to try and pray.

24. Make friends with Godly people.

25.. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.

26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good ‘Thank you Jesus .’

27. Laugh.

28. Laugh some more!

29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.

30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

31.. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

32. Sit on your ego.

33. Talk less; listen more.

34. Slow down.

35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you’re grateful for that you’ve never been grateful for before.

GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.

‘If God is for us, who can be against us?’

(Romans 8:31)

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY 2011

How I become a Christian My personal story

The Salvation Army logo

Image via Wikipedia

Written by Jackie Paulson Oct 19, 2010 Christ Centered Testimony

I originally posted this true testimony on hubpages.com

1. What were you like before you became a Christian?

I am often asked how I became a Christian. To that end I am inspired to write more about my story. To be exact, I was saved Oct 15, 1990. I was working in a Barber Shop in Illinois. I worked for someone who did not share “my fire for the Lord.” I was also going through some tough times concerning men and my relationships with men. Being young I wanted a man in my life, I wanted marriage, I wanted to move out of my dad’s house, and I wanted to start a family.

I was raised Catholic, baptized and confirmed, but I found many of the teachings and rules contradictory and more importantly inconsistent with the conclusions I had intuitively deduced. So, while raised amidst traditional religious views, I also needed explanations that made sense, and just as importantly, I have always believe such explanations were attainable.

2. What caused you to think upon the things of God?

I knew there was a God because my “real mom” passed away when I was five and she was thirty-three years old leaving my father to care for three girl babies under the age of six.

3. How did your conversion come about?

As I worked hard to build a client base at the barber shop I had worked at I developed some very personal relationships with some of the clients. About three years into this job, I was invited to one of my favorite clients house just to talk about the problems I had been having. While I babbled on and on and they “listened” somehow I felt relieved. They then asked me if they could read the “Four Spiritual Laws” booklet to me out loud. I said “sure.” Well, after that reading I accepted Jesus into my daily life and made him Lord over my Life from that day forward. What was amazing is that when I left their home, the air seemed different, the trees, the smell, just about everything. The very next day I went and searched for a bible I could read and understand the best and it was the Full Life Study Bible. I was now on fire for our Lord and read it faithfully daily and took it everywhere with me. This was the beginning of my journey with God.

4. What difference has your conversion made to your life?

Today is Oct 19, 2010 and I have countless things to share on how my conversation made a difference in my life. The most recent is how I put my faith in God in my time of trouble. To sum it up, I lost a job, could not find another one, and then got evicted from where I lived. (This happened in Feb of 2010). It has been nine months of commitment to Christ and Faith that has brought me to where I am now.

I had $800.00 and a committed relationship with a man who had $800.00. This money bought us a storage unit to move all our belongings to store. As we did not have a living place to go to arrive at. We had five days to do it. We donated most of our house to Salvation Army. In the end, we moved to another town closer to family and lived in a cheap motel for three months and three days. These were the longest days of my life as I was insecure about the location of the motel. Needless to say, I survived it. By the grace of God we got jobs and were allowed by God’s grace to move across the street to a nicer cheaper apartment with much more room. The Lord has provided just enough for us to live on but nothing extra, until now.

Now, we both have steady work and live life thanking our Lord for all the gifts and blessings he has provided in the past and daily. Our life is centered on family and reading the bible, prayer and worship. I praise God daily and want to save all the souls who do not yet know the benefits of inviting Christ into their lives. If you have questions, concerns, or comments please ask….

Love and in Christ, Jackie Paulson

UPDATE: Wow, after reading this I realized how far I have come in just one year. We are getting ready to move again as this is what our new apartment is forcing us to do. Why? Well, they are remodeling all of the apartments and updating them. Bless us as we upgrade to a bigger unit. My advice to anyone in their 40′s is to get younger helpers to help move you as I am so sick of moving that emotionally it’s taken it’s toll on me.

I ask myself, “when was the last time I was truly happy?” Yes, it was when the economy was doing okay in 2005. My spiritual insights have taught me that since 2007 we are all going into a transformation stage in our lives. Some of us are realizing our natural talents and giving up the corporate world. Some of us are starting to write more, blog more, and even write books. Some of us are starting to take care of our health. Some are starting a new business or closing an existing one.

The bottom line: Do whatever it takes to help you realize life on earth is so short that spending time helping others is really what life is all about. Amen to that. Please share anything that you feel is true for you as this transformation is so helpful in our growing process.
