How’s your blog coming along? I love to blog and just decided to change it to just the challenge of post a day 2011. I was going to add book reviews and such but my comments went down. I am now back to just this challenge and moved my book blogs to another blog if you are interested: http://getreadingnow.wordpress.com/

What’s been your favorite part of the challenge? My favorite part of the challenge is learning from other bloggers and making new friends who I plan to keep for a lifetime.

Is there anything you want to see more (or less) of here at The Daily Post? I am really happy with the challenge and wouldn’t change a thing.

May you all be blessed each day as it is God’s will for each of you.

Topic #173:

Do you prefer the aisle or window when traveling? Why?

I love to be by the window if I travel by train, air, or car. I love to see the view of nature and just what is going on around me.

Topic #165 When was the last time you changed your mind?

Today’s Topic at http://dailypost.wordpress.com/ is

When was the last time you changed your mind?

Topic #165:

When was the last time you changed your mind?

I did not want to post today on this topic so I “changed my mind” and decided to make a creative post on “stairs.” I have no clue why other than I am fascinated with spiral stairs. Truthfully they don’t seem practical other than to create space or design. I, personally would not want to go up and down any of those spiral stairs. What about you? Okay, if for a day to learn about them that would be nice, but to deal with them daily, is just not my thing! I think I will enjoy looking at them in magazines and such and stay away from them. What about you?

I’m not sure how to decide what my top 3 posts are; I’ve written 119 so far this year, I’m far from having an opinion on all of them! I know the three with the most hits are:
1. Bonus Points For Honours Maths (237 views)
2. Bones Vs. Castle (173)
3. Irish Blog Awards 2011 (155)

This challenge has been a big help in keeping my goal of three posts per week. I might have made that goal anyway, but it’s nice to have all the shared effort to keep me motivated!
I’m blogging on military retirement & financial independence for the book that’s coming out in August. So most of the topics are on retirement lifestyles and military finances, but once in a while I share old sea stories.
One of the most popular posts was “Dealing with retiree guilt”:
    http://the-military-guide.com/2011/01/27/dealing-with-retiree-guilt/
The second-most popular post was Suze Orman’s less-than-helpful advice to a dual-military couple:
    http://the-military-guide.com/2011/05/04/suze-orman-advises-a-dual-military-couple/
But by far the most popular has been a 25-year-old sea story titled “Hang on!”:

Lots of quality posts here folks, good reasons to be proud of what you’ve all achieved! Took me a while to decide on my top 3 posts and here they are:
How to add an image Widget to your side bar!
    http://noobcake.wordpress.com/2011/02/17/how-to-add-an-image-widget-to-your-side-bar
After the effort I put in making this guide it was worth the effort as plenty of people found it really helpful. Woop!
    Story Bounce! Tell your story!
    http://noobcake.wordpress.com/2011/04/05/story-bounce-tell-your-story
I wasn’t prepared for the huge amount of interest in this post. So many comments that helped the story along was amazing! I’m planning on putting it all together at some point in a story and posting it.
    Osama Bin Who?
    http://noobcake.wordpress.com/2011/05/05/osama-bin-who
I’m proud of this post because I took my time to get my thoughts in order and be clear on what I wanted to say without seeming biased or seen as some weirdo having a rant for the sake of it.

Just Write Freshly Pressed

To comment on the new distraction-free writing feature, go try it first! Here I am trying out the new layout. I love it so far. Write a post and see how it feels. Give it a “just write” tag. Then come back and tell us what you thought about the experience and give us your feedback in a comment on this post. Include a link to the first post you wrote in dfw mode so we can check you out

When we do a person a favor, we tend to like them more as a result. This is because we justify our actions to ourselves that we did them a favor because we liked them.

If My House was ON FIRE…what would I grab first?

Topic #131:If My House was ON FIRE…what would I grab first?

Magic

Not that we want anything to happen to your home. As far as we know its perfectly safe and nice. But if it did, and you only had a minute to run in and grab some things, what would you take?

There was a fire drill that we didn’t know of late last year in our building, I totally grabbed for my important documents and yes I was definitely leaving the laptops and some valuables which I only laugh at that it would have been left behind!
This question reminds me of the movie “Leap Year”!

    My cats!
I have even trained my cats to come to me. I do not want them afraid in a fire or if a tornado were coming. So, I have trained them both. They know what it means to “get in the cage now.” So, I won’t have to fear. I can replace everything but them.
So I also have renters insurance b/c I live in an apartment.

Free Site Submit Tip and Much More!

Free twitter badge

Image via Wikipedia

Hey my friend Eliz http://eof737.wordpress.com/ really motivated me to start a post today. I am really excited that all the comments kept coming as I started to work more hours. Thank you all so very much for caring. I would much rather blog than go to my job. LOL

Do you want more traffic to your blog? Just go here for free and scroll down to submit your site.

This tip came from my friend STELLA:

Stella Anokam is the creator and owner of StellaAnokam.Com. Stella is passionate about using blogging as a medium to assist others with simplified internet marketing tips and resources for starting or growing a home based business online. Stella does that by sharing what she knows, lessons from her experience as a business consultant and project manager, what is working for her and what she is currently learning. Click to Download Stella’s popular profit blogging eBook. Be sure to followStella’s online marketing tips on Twitter.

Thank you Stella for all of your help and tips and tricks I hope you find new traffic from this blog.

*Did you know that if you say, money does not grow on trees” that it is a dis-empowering phrase? Now that I have learned this I want to share what we can do to feel more empowered: (learning the Law of Attraction)

Let go of those messages that no longer serve you today, for example you may have said that statement in your past, but it is no longer true for you today. So If you want to buy a possession, tell yourself that you want it and could buy it and that you CHOOSE not to buy it today. This is a statement of bringing power back to you and the money will follow.

I am mostly Optimistic in 2011

It is nice to keep some money in your wallet or purse. If you only have 1.00 that is great! But try to increase that to more as you learn to empower your thoughts. This money will represent that you do have money.

In order to get you have to give. So if you need a book, give away a book. If you need 5.00 give it away, and if you do not have any money to give away, think of the amount you are giving away and it will come to you. We all have something to give, whether it is time, money, resources, tips, hugs, friendship, or an encouraging word.

LESSON TO PONDER: If you could write down exactly what you wanted to have happen to you today, what would you write?
